From Denmark to India to USA

Phases was founded in 2011 by Daniel Horn in Denmark. Building on his experience in the IT field, Daniel saw an opportunity to start a company focused on helping enterprises move from their current Phase to the next by leveraging modern, scalable solutions with a particular focus on the Microsoft ecosystem. 

A key milestone in our journey was a website project that required development in Umbraco. Daniel reached out for assistance on the official Umbraco forum, and, through there, connected with Muhammed Ansar (also known as Anz). Together, in 2012, they decided to expand Phases with a development office in Kerala, India with Anz as the Chief Technical Officer. 

As the company grew, in 2017, our Indian office moved to an Infopark, an IT initiative of the Government of Kerala. The same year Phases achieved the AAA credit rating.

In 2014, Phases launched its first product: Item exporter for Podio. From here, we expanded our product catalog for Podio to include a backup solution as well. In 2015, Citrix recognized Phases’ innovation with two awards in the Citrix app challenge and Phases became a certified Citrix Partner Solution Provider and Podio Preferred Partner. 

In parallel, Phases built a thriving .NET CMS practice, delivering hundreds of solutions in Umbraco and Sitecore. In 2021, Phases was awarded Umbraco's Best Gold Partner Solution Award. Building on this long-standing commitment, Phases became an official Umbraco Platinum Partner in 2025, reflecting our continued dedication and technical leadership in the Umbraco ecosystem.

Today, Phases comprises over 80 technology architects and developers, working with Fortune Global 500 companies, governments, NGOs and agency partners, from offices in Denmark, India, USA and Brazil. With the acquisition of Podio and Sharefile by Progress in 2024, Phases is pleased to be able to offer our clients the full set of enterprise solutions Progress provides, leveraging the breadth of our Microsoft expertise.
